My Journey to Birthwork
My Story
My name is Lydia-Carlie (she/her) and I am a queer, Black Haitian birthworker based in the San Francisco Bay Area. My journey as birthworker began very early on; I was raised in a multi-generational Haitian household where I was blessed to see my paternal grandmother care for my aunts through their birth journeys while being immersed in the births around me, and fascinated with caring for my younger sibling and cousins.
I honor this calling, my lineage, and both my grandmother Liliane and my mother Ghinna's memories in doing this work.

I am a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, a certified Health Educator, a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Advocate, and a certified Neuromuscular Massage Therapist specializing in prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum recovery massage.
My practice, SageFemme Wellness supports families through their pregnancy, birth, postpartum journeys and beyond.

My mission is to fill the gaps in the prenatal care and postpartum recovery experience through therapeutic massage therapy services and comprehensive support services. I believe that the journey from pregnancy through birth is a marathon that requires a support team! I offer the guidance, emotional support, and physical support needed during this time so that every birthing experience is safe, positive, and empowering.
